We take on full internal refurbishments of houses, flats, offices and retail units, from replanning a layout and taking out load-bearing walls to complete strip-outs and rebuilds.
Structural alterations
Opening up a ground floor, removing a chimney breast or forming a new opening all need proper structural design. We handle the engineer’s calculations, the building regulations application and the installation, so it is one job with one accountable contractor rather than three separate conversations.
Commercial fit-out
For offices, retail units and cafés we work to your trading requirements, phasing the programme, working outside opening hours where it helps, and keeping the site presentable while customers are still coming through the door.
Common questions
Can you remove internal walls to open up a space?
Yes, and it is one of the most common things we are asked for. Load-bearing walls need a structural engineer's calculations and building regulations approval, with a steel or timber beam sized for the load. We arrange the engineer, the approval and the installation as one job.
Can we stay in the property during the work?
Often yes, depending on scope. Where a kitchen or the only bathroom is out of use, or where the work is extensive, it is usually faster and less stressful to move out for a period. We will be straight with you at quotation stage about what living through it would actually involve.
Do you take on commercial refurbishments?
Yes. Offices, retail units, cafés and similar. Where a business needs to keep trading we phase the work and, where practical, work outside opening hours to keep disruption down.
